Scooter Selection and other equipment
What type of scooters do you hire?
We currently offer two types of scooter. The first is a small boot scooter which can easily be transported and the second is a non-folding scooter. Prices for both are the same and unless a preference is stated pre pick up they will be allocated to each customer solely on availability.
What other equipment do you hire?
We also stock a range of disability aids including wheel chairs and walking aids, we also have powers chairs and many other mobility and disability items. Please contact us should there be a specific item you require.
Scooter Hire costs and booking information
How much is scooter hire?
Below is a table on our daily and weekly costs. For hire length any longer than 1 week please contact us for a discounted price. Minimum Hire Is 2 days for delivery.

What payment methods do you accept?
If booking through the website we currently accept all major debit and credit cards. If booking via phone or email and picking up from the office cash or card will be accepted.
Do you ask for a deposit?
We do not require a deposit.
How do I make my scooter booking?
There are two methods to book our scooter hire. The first is by using our automated booking system on this website (Discount will also apply). The second is via email or phone call. All bookings will need to be made by 6pm the day before to guarantee availability of scooter hire.
Is there a cancellation fee?
Cancellations must be made 24 hours before scheduled delivery. If less than 24 hours no refunds will be given. 24 hours or more will incur a £10 administrative charge.
Scooter pickup and delivery
Where do I pick up and drop off my hired scooter?
Once booking has been confirmed the scooter will be ready to be picked up at Palins Holiday Park, Morfa Avenue Kinmel Bay, LL18 5LE
This is also the same address the scooter will be dropped off at on the agreed time.
Do you offer delivery and collection?
Yes, we also offer a full delivery and collection service to a location of your choice within our hire agreement radius, Delivery to LL18 & LL22 Areas is Free. However any locations outside of this area will incure a £15 charge.
Call outs and break downs
What do I if my scooter has a fault?
We will provide you with a manual on most easy to fix faults, if none of these works, we will also provide you with a phone number for our mobility engineer. They will aim to either assist over the phone or come to your location to provide a repair.
What if my scooter cannot be repaired?
If the scooter is beyond a quick repair, we keep a stock of scooters unavailable for hire ready to go. You will be provided with a replacement free of charge. Should an engineer have to attend a the fault found is due to no fault of Scoot there will be a £20 charge payable in cash at the time of the engineer attending.
Scooter insurance and accident information
Will I need to insure my scooter?
We do not comment on individual insurance policy. Scoot North Wales has full insurance policy in place. Please be aware that Scoot North Wales advises the hirer of the equipment that the use these at their own risk and accepts the Scoot North Wales will not be liable for any injury, damage, loss of expense whatsoever, howsoever arising or caused. Furthermore Scoot North Wales acknowledges the need to exercise due care and attention for other members of the public and for the care of the equipment whilst on hire.
Do I need a driving licence?
No due to driving act no licence is required to operate or drive a scooter currently. However please remember these scooters are not for road use.
What happens if I damage my scooter?
If the scooter is damaged the hirer will be eligible for any repair costs incurred to restore the scooter to the same condition as presented.
Will I be shown how my scooter works?
We will try our upmost that you will be given a brief demonstration on how to operate the scooter by one of our staff whether its on pick up or delivery. (We cannot guarantee this will happen everytime).
How do I charge my scooter?
On pick up and delivery you will be given a charger, we also provide a manual which covers this aspect.
How long does the battery last?
This will vary greatly dependant on persons weight, driving style and land gradient, however all our models have a battery indicator which shows when the battery is running low.
Can I use my scooter in the rain?
As with all electrical equipment water can pose a real problem so we advise against using the scooter in the rain. However we do have scooter covers for sale on our website. The most important thing is keeping the electrical & battery areas dry when possible.
